OUTRAGE-OUS BEHAVIOR!

Most of us have a team or an athlete that we admire and follow. For example, I’m a Chicago fan, but I used to love watching John Elway play. It’s something common. You can’t help but admire people for their talents. People like Peyton Manning, who is a fabulous QB. But what exactly am I outraging about? The people who take it a step too far. One of my favorite days is Super Sunday. I love to get together with my friends and enjoy the most watched event of the year. And every year we make predictions. It really, really bothers me when we get together for these events and people act like fans of the team that’s playing. If it’s Oakland and Detroit for the NFL championship, am I going to cheer and jump out of my seat and scream in my friends ears because I want Oakland to win? NO!!! LEAVE THE CELEBRATION TO THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY LOVE THE TEAM!!! Yeah, I might have put a couple of bucks on Oakland, but that’s no reason to pretend I’m a lifelong fan. Sometimes I just like to watch the games. I don’t care who wins, but people have to ask the idiotic question: “who do you want to win”? I DON’T CARE!!! So, at this years Super Party, make sure you don’t make a fool out of yourself by pretending to be a fan of whichever two teams make it (I just used Oakland and Detroit as an example, I mean, let’s be serious). If you can just contain yourself and manage your alcohol intake, I can guarantee you won’t be wondering why you’re head hurts, have a black eye, and why you’ve woken up in a dumpster.

A CENTURY OF OUTRAGE!!!

Well, here we are. Almost at 2008. I hope everyone’s 2007 has gone well until now. I ‘ve had a pretty good year. So what does the future hold for us? Maybe a spaceport? A Led Zeppellin Reunion tour? Another view of Britney’s vag? Well, I wouldn’t count the last one out. But here’s one thing I am not looking forward in 2008. All the sports media dopes that are not from Chicago are going to say the same thing over and over until they’ve beaten it to death. What will they say? “Hey Bill, did you know the Cubs haven’t won a WS since 1908″? It’s going to be everywhere. And it’s to those dopes that today’s outrage is dedicated to. As a loyal Cubs fan, I’d just like to say NO! I DIDN’T KNOW THAT THE TEAM HAS BEEN LOSING FOR A CENTURY! THANKS FOR THE REMINDER!!! It really steams my cabbage when these media hoo-has come in to our town and think they know everything about the Cubs history! Yeah, we’ve been losing and thanks to dopes on TV sports networks or sports magazines we haven’t forgotten it. It’s painful enough as it is. Why do they feel the constant need to remind us of our losing past. Imagine your best buddies gets cheated on. Are you going to remind him everytime you see a woman that his ex-flame let some other yoyo dip his wang in her? Let me assure you, he would not like it at all! So, please, comment once and only once on it and lets play baseball. Yeah, we’re losers and we know it. We don’t have to be reminded every summer of the century of Outrage. Can’t wait until spring training.

THE NEW EVIL EMPIRE

Something incredible happened during the post season in baseball. I found myself wanting the NY Yankees to succeed. I know a lot of people have a general dislike for them. Perhaps its all the media attention, all the talent they gather, or the large checkbook. I don’t personally hate them, but I can’t say I’m a fan. However, there’s a shift happening as we speak…….the new evil empire in baseball is quickly becoming the Boston Red Sox. I don’t hate the BoSox either, but something about them has changed. They give the appearance of being an overconfident bunch. Maybe they are really great guys in real life, but the way the present themselves has changed. They went from being Curse Crushers to exactly what they hate. They are following in the Yanks footsteps. I’ve said it time and again, this is just my opinion. People may agree or disagree with me. Some might say I’m sour (99 years without a WS title will do that to you) but I’m just a neutral observer in the NY-Boston rivalry. I can’t wait for spring training.
